E.N.S.A. tour diary of the Jonathan Laurey Marionette Company — October 1942
Thirteen handwritten lined-paper pages headed “The Jonathan Laurey Marionette Co. E.N.S.A. Tour.” The diary begins on 14 October 1942 with a ‘Mileometer’ reading of 01584 and records driving directions, performances, meals, overnight stops and touring incidents. Four subsequently photographed pages continue the record through 27–28 October, describing disrupted road travel, vehicle trouble and repairs, assistance from other travellers, overnight stops and further touring journeys. Earlier pages trace London, Kent and Sussex, including Tower Bridge, Elephant & Castle, Bromley, Sevenoaks, Tonbridge and Eastbourne.
