Ebenezer Scrooge marionette puppet
Papier-mâché marionette puppet of Ebenezer Scrooge, with hand-modelled papier-mâché head and Leetex hands, painted facial features, grey-white hair, dark cloth costume, black shoes, stringing and wooden control bar. A fragment of newspaper attached to the shoe dates the piece to 20 May 1949. The puppet is seen on a colourised postcard. Acquired March 2021 from Bamfords Auction after being found under an agricultural museum bus, and restored by The Joy Laurey Archive. Approx. size: about 20 in / 51 cm long for the puppet figure, excluding extended control strings; wooden control bar present.
