Haroun al Raschid (the Caliph) marionette puppet

Original stringed marionette depicting Haroun al Raschid, the Caliph, from the play Aboo Hassan – A Legend of the East, produced by The Jonathan Laurey Marionette Company in 1949–50. The puppet wears an ochre-gold robe with a hand-painted dragon across the front, decorative painted motifs, red-lined sleeves and a brightly coloured striped lower border. Painted head and hands, wooden feet, strings and wooden control bar are present. Approx. size: about 21 in / 53 cm long for the puppet figure, excluding extended control strings and control bar.
