Sarah Swede pencil design with Pelham Puppet Club note — Harrods

Original pencil drawing by Joy Laurey of the puppet character Sarah Swede, wearing a bonnet, checked shawl and apron. The front is annotated “Sarah Swede”, “Birthday 1951” and “Balham 4352”, with a small sketch showing how the back view should be learned. On the reverse, Joy recorded a performance note for the Pelham Puppet Club, known as Pelpups, at Harrods: “Harrods Jan 10th 3 p.m. Pel Pups”.
