An interior profile headed “Joy Laurey” states that puppet characters for Mariana’s Puppet Show were specially created for the production by television puppeteer Joy Laurey; it refers to Mr Turnip, the BBC Magazine Programme Whirligig, and the television puppet-film series The Adventures of Twizzle and Torchy.
