Early sketches for Mr Turnip Starts the Day by Joy Laurey
Early pencil and working sketches by Joy Laurey for Mr Turnip Starts the Day. The project was catalogued by Vectis in 2007 as part of Lot 3427 under the titles “Mr Turnip’s Day at Home” and “Mr Turnip Starts the Day”, alongside original mock-ups, handwritten story material, photographed copies, working sketches and early transcripts. Related material from the same project later reappeared at Vectis in 2020 as part of Lot 330, which was purchased directly by Stuart Woodhead for The Joy Laurey Archive. Stuart has confirmed that “Mr Turnip’s Day at Home” and Mr Turnip Starts the Day are the same project. The story was later published in Stuart Woodhead’s Mr Turnip – The Missing Stories.
