Joy Laurey presenting Snippet on BBC Television’s For Women: Leisure and Pleasure
A black-and-white photograph showing Joy Laurey operating the Snippet marionette beside a BBC television camera. A handwritten inscription on the reverse identifies the image as Joy Laurey presenting Snippet on the television programme Leisure. A supporting Radio Times Genome entry confirms that Joy appeared on BBC Television’s For Women: Leisure and Pleasure on 2 March 1954 at 4.15 p.m. In the segment “Puppets and Stories”, she gave parents hints on handling string and glove puppets. This is a separate, more heavily worn print of the same studio image represented by JLA-0190.
