Bell Boy marionette puppet
Original stringed marionette depicting the Bell Boy from the play Aboo Hassan – A Legend of the East, produced by The Jonathan Laurey Marionette Company in 1949–50. The figure has a carved and painted wooden head with black hair, large painted eyes and red lips, together with expressive oversized wooden hands. He wears a cream patched shirt and dark blue trousers, with bare painted wooden lower legs and feet. Strings and the original-style wooden control bar are present. Approx. size: about 17 in / 43 cm long for the puppet figure, excluding the control strings and bar.
