Four-page folded programme and advance publicity leaflet for The Laurey Puppets at Candie Gardens Theatre, Guernsey, C.I., for the week beginning Monday 14 February 1955. Presented by John Marriner in association with Sydney James, it is introduced by Dorrie Laurey and lists 20 items, including The Syncopated Scarecrow, The Enchanted Picture Gallery, The Emperor’s Nightingale — a short play by Dorrie Laurey based on Hans Christian Andersen — a personal introduction to Mr Turnip, and Joy Laurey’s “It Takes Two to Tango” with Susan. The Mr Turnip entry notes his appearances in the television programme Whirligig, as well as in books and children’s papers. The outer leaflet includes a publicity photograph and press quotation; the reverse advertises a forthcoming ice production at St. George’s Hall, commencing 11 April.
