Mr Turnip's Bagatelle
Mr Turnip's Bagatelle, a boxed tabletop game made in England by Glevum Games and featuring artwork by Joy Laurey. The lid shows Mr Turnip playing the game and carries the wording “By permission of Joy Laurey and the B.B.C.” The playing board depicts Mr Turnip and uses a spring-loaded side alley to propel balls around the curved top of the board. Players take turns playing the balls and score according to the numbered holes they enter; balls reaching the bottom without scoring are lost for that turn. The surviving instruction label states that after a player has exhausted the balls, the score is totalled and another player takes over, with any agreed number of rounds constituting a game. The photographed example retains the original box, internal board and balls; completeness of the original ball set has not been independently verified.
