Mr Turnip Dean's Rag Book Co. Puppet
A commercially produced Mr Turnip character puppet/doll made in England by Dean's Rag Book Co. Ltd of London. The figure has a painted moulded head with Mr Turnip's distinctive features, fabric and felt clothing, yellow felt hands, pale green trousers, dark shoes and an academic-style black mortarboard and cape. A surviving stitched cloth label on the cape reads 'MADE IN ENGLAND by Dean's Rag Book Co. Ltd LONDON', providing firm manufacturer identification. This is an unusual example of licensed Mr Turnip television merchandise from the character's 1950s period of popularity.
